I am beyond obsessed with quality DIY sewing blogs. Women who make fashionable pieces by hand, especially awesome, simple items, are my constant inspiration. I’ve been following Geneva from A Pair and A Spare for a while now, and she puts together detailed tutorials for beautiful clothes I always want to make!

While scrolling through her projects, I stumbled across this lace pencil skirt and instantly put it on my sewing to-do list. Simple, sexy, and surprisingly versatile, I am pumped to try this project out. Let me know if you try this project or any of the other’s on her site this weekend! WARNING: You will be sucked in by the amazing projects you will find on this site… Happy weekend bunnies!

Cake and Champagne Party

Cake and Champagne Party by Bunny Baubles 10

As you may have seen on my Instagram, I helped to host a birthday celebration this weekend! The initial plan for Maggie’s birthday had been to drive out to New Braunfels, float the river, and enjoy each others’ company. Then we got lazy, didn’t want to find a house to stay at, or drive all the way out there. We were also lacking in money from a very fun girls weekend consisting of a little too much shopping and cocktail sampling. Classic. Continue reading “Cake and Champagne Party”

5 Cutest Bunnies to Follow on Instagram

5 Cutest Bunnies on Instagram

There’s a hilarious trend that has exploded on the internet these days. If you have an adorable animal living with you who eats, sleeps, and gets into trouble, you better put that cutie up on Instagram! People have full accounts devoted to their pets… and I’ve decided I’m on board with it.

If I had a bunny, y’all would know it. It would be all over my Instagram, hopping its way into your hearts. Sniffing flowers, chomping on carrots, and cuddling up on the couch. Since I don’t, I resorted to adopting some sweet little guys that you MUST check out. It’s the perfect fix for a girl who wishes she had a furry friend, without all of the responsibility.

These five accounts are all pretty different, so hopefully you can find one to adopt!

1. @BunnyMama

These three lops are the sweetest little guys. I love seeing them cuddle up and play with each other. But don’t worry… they have their mischievous sides as well…

2. @CooperThePooper

It’s ok, I giggled at the name too. I have a thing for Netherland Dwarfs and Cooper reminds me so much of my old little bunny, Buttercup! There are pictures going up all day, so you can always check in on his whereabouts.

3. @BunnyPigi

Talk about a puff of fluff. This guy is so furry you can barely see his eyes!

4. @Wally_and_Molly

This rabbit almost resembles a poodle, and can hop like I’ve never seen a bunny hop! If you’re looking for a pet with some serious parkour skills, this is your guy.

5. @PandoraMBunny

Like I said, I have a thing for Netherland Dwarfs. This gal is a real sweetie who fills the classic bunny void in your life.

The Houston Food Blogger Collective

Houston Food Blogger Collective

So there is no Fri-DIY today, but I have some very exciting news. I’ve been accepted into the Houston Food Blogger Collective! I’m joining tons of other amazing food bloggers, photographers, bakers, and lovers in their search and adoration of good food. I will be attending events at various Houston establishments and look forward to sharing photos and recipes with y’all so you can enjoy all that Houston and it’s food have to offer.

Along with the introduction to satisfactory sips and snacks, I’m looking forward to an introduction to some really amazing Houston food bloggers. Since I usually share something with you all on Friday’s, I wanted to share some posts from some of my new favorite Houston bloggers! Check them out and watch out for drool….

Erika from Pancake Princess is quite literally the queen of the cake. Her pictures are to die for, and the food is fit for royalty. Just look at this stack. Did I mention there’s buckwheat in there? I don’t know how she makes such healthy things so delicious, but she does.

I was obviously drawn in by the blog name at Let them Eat Queso (you know me and puns), but I love the mix of travel, recipes, and food adventures that Hannah shares. Her last recipe post was for fried green tomatoes, a perfect accompaniment to eggs at brunch that I see down here a lot!

Rachel from Southern Fairytale has my mouth watering with the delights she’s been sharing lately. This butterscotch pecan monkey bread looks like a food coma waiting to happen…

Next time I talk with you, maybe I’ll have actually met some of these people! Have a lovely weeked!

Peaches n’ S’Cream Recipe

Peaches n' S'Cream Ice Cream by Bunny Baubles

Not surprisingly, this Summer just keeps getting hotter. I’ve started to give up on tanning at the pool, or as it’s more commonly known as, Julia trying to read mystery novels while being as close to completely underwater as possible. Even my AC has been giving up, leaving the apartment at a cool 78 degrees on a normal basis. Yuck! Continue reading “Peaches n’ S’Cream Recipe”

Fri-DIY: Prickly Pin Cusion

So I stumbled upon this DIY just yesterday and could not believe how adorable it was. Pins + Pin Cushions = Cacti looking object… how has no one put them together before? Well, they hadn’t, and thank goodness A Beautiful Mess made it happen.

By just using some small pots and felt, you can make the least threatening cacti plants you’ve ever seen. Truly, I already own a pin cushion for sewing that I love, but I would make these planters just for decoration. They remind me of something I would find in Chinatown with my friends with little googly eyes and a cheery grin that has no purpose other than to be cute. So I think this project could go either way: decorative or useful.

Try this one out this weekend and let me know how it goes! Thanks again to A Beautiful Mess for the inspiring post.

Fri- DIY: Modern Triangle Shelving

This week I found a simple DIY brought to us by the Whimsy Darling blog. These triangular shelves double as beautiful artwork and storage space for, well, more artwork! I love that you can hide little trinkets inside, or stack books and plants on top of these versatile shelves. Because they are meant to be sort of an art piece themselves, you can make as many or as few as you would like and then rearrange them time and time again to get a cool, new look. Snap a photo and let me know how this DIY goes for you!

Thank you to Whimsy Darling for posting this lovely DIY! All photos and ideas were taken from their site.
