Quick and Easy Creamy Tomato Soup

Well, as it so happens, folks, we’ve had two days of snow in Houston in one Winter season. It’s true insanity after living here for eight years and only seeing snow one other time, but I’ll take a day working at home and the best soup weather there ever was! And really, truly, there’s nothing I like better than a big bowl of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich.

Halloween Mummy Pizzas

What is it about Halloween that is just so fun? Maybe we all like to be a little creeped out once in a while. I know I am the queen of listening to mystery podcasts, so I definitely fall into that boat. It might also be that sense of nostalgia from our childhood of dressing up and eating as much sugar as we wanted for one night. I seem to continue doing that into my adulthood too…

Quick and Easy Shredded Chicken Tacos

Tacos are just the best. You don’t need any utensils to eat them, the ingredients are cheap, and the flavors are just darn good. I’ve made many an overnight taco recipe, as well as the quick ground beef stove top kind, but I had never actually tried my hand at a quick chicken taco recipe that I really loved, until this one. This week I’ve tried something new that I am really excited to share with y’all. Though I am a food blogger who loves to cook and bake, most weeks I find myself scrambling to get meals put together for dinner. With trying to juggle work, exercising, socializing, and blogging, it can leave little to no time for coming up with something inspiring to eat. There tends to be a lot of scrambled eggs, frozen gnocchi, and ordering Thai food, to be completely honest.

Being home with my family so much this Fall, I really got back to my roots. My roots, literally, are settled in with potatoes, being that my parents are both mostly Irish. Thus, I made some potatoes.

Grandpa’s Herb Roasted Chicken

In early September I visited Chicago for back to back wedding weekends. While I was there, I had the pleasure of stopping in and spending the day with my grandpa. He lives in the most beautiful modern home that he designed, overlooking a scenic, wooded backdrop. I love visiting that house as I have so many memories of it, and my grandpa has been doing some serious remodeling that is making it a dream house for mid-century lovers like me!

Upon opening my September Degustabox, I was completely pumped about finding two jars of chutney in there. I quickly realized that I had never used chutney before and was unsure of what I could actually do with it.

Colorful Slow Cooker Pork Taco Recipe

Slow Cooker Pork Taco Recipe by Bunny Baubles 3

When dinner consists of rainbow colors, huge flavor, and includes the word taco, you KNOW I’ll be in to it. But to be honest, I reserve most new and experimental cooking for the weekend. Weekdays are for roasting veggies with salt and pepper, repeating tried and true teriyaki salmon and hummus chicken recipes… or just heating up some really spot on frozen tamales. But by Sunday I am fully rested and wake up on a mission to cook something that’s exciting. And by exciting, I mean that I have enough gusto to head to the meat counter and ask for a 3 1/2 pound pork shoulder. Sunday’s usually involve friends too, so there’s someone around to help me eat this 3 1/2 pound hunk of meat. Continue reading “Colorful Slow Cooker Pork Taco Recipe”
