Long time no blog! I’m not sure why, but it has been a while since I’ve blogged any projects, even though I have been creating and sharing over on my Instagram. As Covid-19 cases started to reduce in the start of the year and more of our friends and family are vaccinated, we are getting more visitors, and we decided we really needed to step up our guest room game!Continue reading “DIY Linen Duvet and Shams”
We are only one week away from Christmas! Kyle and I are heading out to Chicago to see my family this weekend, and we couldn’t be more excited. Our plans include baking far to many cookies, designing an elaborate gingerbread house, and generally enjoying being together! Times like these I just love the work from home setup so that we can stay for two weeks and still be able to work if needed. Continue reading “Velvet Reversible Christmas Stocking Sewing Tutorial”
If there is anything we can all get behind this year, it’s that we are all getting in the holiday mood early! Everyone was going all out for Halloween, and quickly after we have transitioned into Thanksgiving/ Christmas. I usually wait to do Christmas decorating until after Thanksgiving, but the tree went up and it’s making us so happy! Since Thanksgiving is such a food centric holiday, and because it is out first year with a dining table, I decided to go with a Fall themed table scape perfect for a party of six (even if it is only being used for two).Continue reading “DIY Thanksgiving Table Decor”
We are back from our wedding (!!! More to come on that!) and it feels so good to come back to a fresh home!Continue reading “DIY Velvet Quilted Bolster Pillow Tutorial”
Happy Tuesday, y’all! There is something about Tuesday that makes it the sleepiest day of the week. No longer rested from the weekend, yet so much more work week to go – am I right? It’s only fitting we talk about upgrading our bedding then. Continue reading “DIY Silk Pillow Cases”
When it comes to making pillow cases, I’d say I’m the queen. I have a stash of almost every color pillow case in the rainbow so that I can change them out whenever I feel like it. My go-to method for making pillow cases had always been the pocket method that I shared a couple years back, but recently I wanted to try out adding a zipper instead to give the pillow a sleek look on both sides. As it turns out – it’s almost just as easy! Continue reading “DIY Velvet Pillow Case with a Zipper”
Things that I did not expect to happen at this point in time in my life: to be celebrating friends having babies and to use my childhood stuffed animal as a prop in blog photos. New surprises every day, I tell you. My sweet friend Lisa is expecting twins and our friend group could not be more excited. She hosted an adorable shower a couple weeks back, and you know I jumped on that DIY baby gift bandwagon.
I’m finally moved into my new apartment and getting to decorate it DIY style! Well… the style is more of a mid-century meets California meets bachelorette pad, but I love when people can come in, ask where I got something, and I can tell them I made it! Having DIY home decor pieces really makes a home feel unique and give it a personal flair. Most of the time people think of home decor DIY’s as something that looks really homemade and crafty, but these pom pom trimmed sheer curtains are totally chic!
