How to Host a Casual Bachelorette Party Weekend

Bachelorette Party by Bunny Baubles 2

Over the weekend, I hosted Megan’s bachelorette party with all of her incredibly sweet friends, and we had the BEST time! These days, weddings and the associated parties can get so out of hand and outrageous, and it was important to her that we keep things casual. In order to do that, it was very DIY and required some planning, but it turned out to be such a great time where we focused on spending time together and showering the bride-to-be.

(Yes, I did theme every itinerary item with Bridesmaids quotes…)

DIY Crepe Paper Vine Balloons

Lately it feels like balloons have made a comeback. Like, they were very cool when I was six and everyone got to bring a latex balloon home from a birthday party. After a long hiatus, it seems like balloons have become trendy. I’m pretty much obsessed with the balloon installations from Geronimo Balloons, and one of my fave DIY blogs, Sugar and Cloth, is always using them in shoots. They’re synonymous with celebrating, so why not embrace it? Continue reading “DIY Crepe Paper Vine Balloons”

How to Throw an 80’s Black Light Party

80's Blacklight Party by Bunny Baubles 3

Decades themed parties are the easiest to throw since you have 10 years of music, food, pop culture, and fashion to choose from. After throwing 20’s and 60’s themed parties for our last two birthdays, Megan and I decided it was time to conquer the 80’s! Back to the 80’s: Nobody Puts the Birthday Girl in the Corner. Chocolate Championship Whoopie Pie Recipe

Chocolate Championship Whoopie Pies by Bunny Baubles Blog 6

The weekend before last I joined my friends, along with the rest of America, to watch the Super Bowl. I made my version of Chuy’s classic jalapeño ranch dip and swapped out the sour cream for Greek yogurt. After about two hours of devouring it without caring, I realized there was nothing unhealthy about it anymore! Except for the pound of tortilla chips that accompanied it… Small victories. Superbowl Snack Recipe Archive

Though my Superbowl plans are not yet set, I am sure to be watching the game, rooting on my third adopted team (Go Broncos!), and snacking hard core.

I like to bring something to the party that’s a little different from everyone else. Though wings, pizza, and chips are needed, there always tends to be like five times too many of all of them. If you’re looking for something original to surprise everyone with, try one of the recipes I’ve shared over the last couple of years!

1. Fresh Mango Salsa – It’s great to have an alternative to the normal salsa with this fresh and zesty one!

2. Hummus (for cheaters – so easy!)

3. The godly Chuy’s Jalapeno Ranch Dip  – This might not look like much, but get back to me in an hour when you’re still chowing down like you’ll never get to have it again.

4. Baked Shoestring Sweet Potato Fries – Grab a handful – or ten – they’re baked and way better for you than the normal chips.

5. Decadent Crabby Avocado Dip – This is a great way to feed your vegetarian friends since it eats like a meal and so simple to throw together.

Peace, Love, and a Quarter Life Crisis: A 60s Themed Birthday

60s Party by Bunny Baubles Blog 13

Today is my 25th birthday! Yikes, that’s a whole quarter of a century… looks like I’ve got to grow up and take things more seriously. Continue reading “Peace, Love, and a Quarter Life Crisis: A 60s Themed Birthday”

Cake and Champagne Party

Cake and Champagne Party by Bunny Baubles 10

As you may have seen on my Instagram, I helped to host a birthday celebration this weekend! The initial plan for Maggie’s birthday had been to drive out to New Braunfels, float the river, and enjoy each others’ company. Then we got lazy, didn’t want to find a house to stay at, or drive all the way out there. We were also lacking in money from a very fun girls weekend consisting of a little too much shopping and cocktail sampling. Classic. Continue reading “Cake and Champagne Party”

Great Gatsby Soiree – Costumes, Cakes, and Champagne

Great Gatsby Soiree by Bunny Baubles 3

Themed parties are the absolute best. Everyone has an excuse to dress up, they make for the best decorations, and it gives you a reason to try a bunch of new drink recipes! For Megan’s birthday this year we decided to go with the perfect little Great Gatsby soiree. Like I said, the three main parts of the party included costumes, swanky decor, and 20s style cocktails. Oh, and it wouldn’t be a birthday without a HUGE cake! Check out how we transformed our apartment and forced our guests into full Gatsby party mode (ok, maybe a tad less glamour, but an equal amount of glitter).
