#progress I say this all the time - it takes SO much practice to bake, sew, anything! Over the years I have attempted decorated cookies, and I want to say the latest batch are my best! I used “the best sugar cookies” recipe from @sallysbakeblog but added in some lemon zest for a fun twist 🍋 I then mixed powdered sugar, meringue powder, and lemon juice to make the icing and used @wiltoncakes gel food coloring (and tips on their website!) for the flowers. I’ve saved the process in my highlights if you missed it the first time around!
Is it really January if you’re not trying new recipes? And is it really January of 2021 if you’re not trying to make at home brunch feel like a restaurant? Kyle wasn’t sold on the cashew crema but otherwise these lox breakfast bowls from @kristincavallari’s Tru Comfort cookbook were 👌🏻Happy weekend, y’all ❤️
Our Chicago 3-Flat inspired Gingerbread house is finally complete!!! A day of sketching our design and pattern, a day prepping the gingerbread, and a day decorating and building - we love it!! Favorite details:
We’re trying to get creative this year on our Christmas and NYE activities. So far we have prepped to make a homemade gingerbread Chicago-style two flat for Christmas - pretty pumped about it! Went to a light show last night and we are making crunch wrap supremes tonight with our gift exchange. What about y’all?? Would love to hear some fun new ideas!
When your family group chat starts a collection of cookie recipes you want to try over the holidays and you just immediately know where you came from 🎄❤️ SO excited to be with all of them this weekend! These gingersnap men were some of my favorite creations a few years ago as I don’t *love* gingerbread, check out these and other Christmas ideas in my Christmas category on the blog! #christmascookies #homefortheholidays
🎄Christmas coming early in our house has been a highlight of 2020!! We are seriously loving having our tree glowing in the corner of the room, fresh garland hanging from the mantle, candles flickering all night long, and getting cozy with tea and blankets each evening. Will we ever take it down? Feels like no. What do you guys think?? All of the details have been updated in my blog post about decorating a natural Christmas tree this year #merrychristmas #ourchristmastree
