When it comes to planning a wedding, there are a handful of very important vendors that you will want to spend your time researching and deliberating before deciding. One of the most important is your photographer. This person will capture your day for you to remember for eternity, and you want to make sure that they are dependable, talented, and most importantly, someone you feel comfortable with. Like any bride, I immediately started scouring for cute, white dresses to wear as soon as I got engaged. Even though my engagement party thrown by my family had already come and gone (and was held in the deep of winter in Chicago, so white was definitely out of the question), I still figured I could wear white dresses for the next year for bachelorette parties, bridal showers, and the like. The only issue with white is usually that it has to be really high quality to:
- Not be see through.
- Not look cheap.
Baking for other people is such a joy. I love bringing a freshly made tray of goodies to an event and have people ooo and ahh over how excited they are to try it. Maybe they’re just feeding my ego, but I’ll take it. Continue reading “Lemon Curd Cheesecake Bar Recipe”
What happens when you have a bag of clementines about to go bad in the refrigerator, a new found love for Waterloo coconut sparkling water (not sponsored, it’s just that good), and a free Friday afternoon? This bomb cocktail that tastes like vacation, but isn’t so ungodly sweet that you get a headache as you’re drinking it. The recipe I’m sharing with you all today is truly a gem. It’s been a while since I’ve posted a new recipe around here! There are really two things that have led me to this point. One, I have been a recipe repeater. I’ve made funeral cake, chocolate chip cookies, and lemon bars galore. Two, I went through a huge phase of macaron testing. Spoiler: I’m still not an expert. Some days I make the perfect little cookie halves and others result in puffed up shell with almost no substance. I think I’m not beating the batter enough for fear that I will over mix it. You win some you lose some. The good news is that I have two new recipes coming up, and today’s is brunch appropriate and perfect for Easter morning! I’ve always been an organized person. I haven’t always been a person who owns a lot of makeup, however. Recently I’ve been adding more and more brushes to my collection (thanks YouTube beauty bloggers), and my makeup bag started getting out of control.
Can we acknowledge the fact that I’ve been engaged for over 3 months, and I have yet to post about it on the blog!? I shared my news on Instagram a few days after Kyle and I were engaged, but dove straight in to planning and have had little time to share anything new about it on my site. Seeing as it’s Valentine’s Day, I figured it was high time to let you all in on a few details and share my inspiration process! Continue reading “Making a Wedding Mood Board”
Can you even believe that we’re so close to Christmas!? Every year I promise myself I won’t let it sneak up on me, but it happens nonetheless. Kyle and I only just purchased return tickets to Houston from Chicago and then have no plans for NYE… I can’t be too hard on myself, though. Tree is up (homemade ornaments and all), gingerbread house is constructed (and partially deconstructed), presents are [mostly] purchased, and I have an outfit picked out!
