Velvet Reversible Christmas Stocking Sewing Tutorial

We are only one week away from Christmas! Kyle and I are heading out to Chicago to see my family this weekend, and we couldn’t be more excited. Our plans include baking far to many cookies, designing an elaborate gingerbread house, and generally enjoying being together! Times like these I just love the work from home setup so that we can stay for two weeks and still be able to work if needed.

That being said, it’s a little bittersweet to leave our decorated home! We truly have loved having our Christmas decorations up this year, and I just keep finding things to add on! The latest edition are these sleek, velvet stockings. I designed them to be dark green on one side, which matches our color scheme this year, and then red on the other side in case we try something different next year. Though they might not be filed with gifts this year, I am sure we will be using them in years to come!

Seeing as this year has been difficult to get any supplies of any sort, I tried to make these as simple as possible to make using no specific pattern. Instead, this tutorial used a sock to trace around and enlarge and then cut out from simple printer paper. You can make them as large or small as you would like. The sewing process is really simple as well, so if you are tight on time and just need to throw some stockings together this year you can make it happen!
