Lately I’ve been trying to move my living room outside to my balcony as much as possible. With the weather being absolutely stunning in Houston this Spring, I’ve been totally inspired to make my outdoor space as inviting as possible so that I’m enticed to spend more time out there. Color and comfort have been my two main focuses, and these new DIY palm printed outdoor pillows are absolutely perfect to capture both of those goals! What is it about pom poms that make everything look so darn cute? Mini pom poms? Game over. So adorable!
Y’all, I’m going to start out this post by saying this DIY is for those who are really looking for a project. Like a project that you can work on in front of the TV for a week or two. It’s hard to justify making something sometimes when I go to Target [4 times in one week… help please] and they have gorgeous throw pillows for $20! The issue is that I already had pillows, and all I really needed were pillow cases. Continue reading “DIY Embroidered Tassel Pillowcase”
Most people gawk at a couch covered in pillows and ask, where am I going to sit? I see it as an opportunity for movie marathons, popcorn eating, and cuddling. More pillows please! Continue reading “DIY Gold Painted Tribal Pillow Case”
This post should not be coming as any surprise, seeing as I told you I was totally gung ho about redecorating my new sofa with none other than fur pillows. They are all over the place in the stores, and I think that they give a really nice contrast in texture to a modern space. I shopped around and found some beautiful ones at Target, Pottery Barn, and Overstock, but none of them had removable pillow cases! There’s no way that furry pillow is not going to need a wash every once in a while… Continue reading “DIY Fur Pillow Cases”
The air was a brisk 66 degrees the other morning here in Houston. AKA, sweater/scarf/down comforter weather! (We are weaklings in the cold and we know it.) Not only did I break out the sweaters for work, I’ve gone so far as to purchase fleece fabric and make the best cuddling blanket of all time. Big enough to wrap up in twice or share with a buddy, this pom pom fleece blanket is perfect for the frozen weather. Continue reading “DIY Pom Pom Fleece Blanket”
Beds with tons of white linens are so heavenly to me. There’s something great about jumping into a fully white bed with a puffy comforter and luxuriously soft sheets that makes you feel like you’re soaring on a cloud. It’s restful, and feels like you’re staying at a five star resort. I made sure when I moved into my new place that the bed was the one place I invested some money. I was left with a dreamy sleeping zone… yet somehow it wasn’t very me. I really like clean white…but I LOVE color. Continue reading “Sha-Bam, DIY Pillow Sham!”
Apartment living can be drab at times. Because you can’t paint your walls and you have very little space, the easiest way to add color to a bedroom is with a fun set of sheets or curtains. Megan was having a rough time finding curtains she loved…and I thought, why couldn’t I make some? Fabric stores have so many more choices in color and pattern to choose from, and most times are much cheaper. Who doesn’t love that? Continue reading “DIY Curtains Sewing Tutorial”
