Lately I’ve been trying to move my living room outside to my balcony as much as possible. With the weather being absolutely stunning in Houston this Spring, I’ve been totally inspired to make my outdoor space as inviting as possible so that I’m enticed to spend more time out there. Lately it feels like balloons have made a comeback. Like, they were very cool when I was six and everyone got to bring a latex balloon home from a birthday party. After a long hiatus, it seems like balloons have become trendy. I’m pretty much obsessed with the balloon installations from Geronimo Balloons, and one of my fave DIY blogs, Sugar and Cloth, is always using them in shoots. What is it about pom poms that make everything look so darn cute? Mini pom poms? Game over. So adorable!
For as long as I can remember, I have loved candles. Adding a soft glow to your living room on a cold night or creating a sparkling atmosphere out on a patio with candles can really improve the ambiance – especially when they are scented! For those of you who live in a small space like I do, you know that keeping things organized can be a challenge. Between collecting clothes and adding to my ever growing craft supply, my things started to consume me. I had items stuffed under my bed, shoved into my closet (and the laundry closet… and the coat closet…), and lying all over my desk. It was driving me crazy, and I knew it was time for a change.
You know when a DIY is almost not a DIY? Like it’s too easy to be a DIY and you feel like you’re cheating at crafts? That’s these DIY Valentine’s Day decorations.
With Christmas being only weeks away, I’m sure you’ve started your decorating. You pull out all of your glitzy garlands, scented candles, and pine needle centerpieces out of storage, set them up around the house, and then take a look to see that something is missing. Though finding old treasures from past years is fun, it’s always exciting to add something new into the mix.
