We’ve all seen a gallery wall, but have you hung one before? Getting all of the nails perfectly placed so that your pictures aren’t askew can be such a hassle. What if the pictures don’t actually fit the way you wanted them to? How do you cover up all of the unwanted holes once you move the pictures? Not to worry, I’ve come up with the simplest way to plan and hang your pictures the first time around!
Things that I did not expect to happen at this point in time in my life: to be celebrating friends having babies and to use my childhood stuffed animal as a prop in blog photos. New surprises every day, I tell you. My sweet friend Lisa is expecting twins and our friend group could not be more excited. She hosted an adorable shower a couple weeks back, and you know I jumped on that DIY baby gift bandwagon.
Whenever the seasons change from Summer to Fall, I always feel like I need to do some redecorating. I always have tons of flowers and bright colors on display during the Summer, but I like to bring in some cozy vibes and more muted tones for the Fall. In order to do this easily and on the cheap, I turned to this boho yarn wall hanging project.
I’VE MOVED! OK, this is old news. I moved about a month ago, but it’s still surreal walking into my apartment every evening, seeing the space and realizing it’s just mine. I still expect Megan to walk through the door at any moment (let’s be honest, not to worry, she still does). Even though my mom did a stellar job at forcing me to organize and decorate A.S.A.P.- literally within the first 48 hours of living there – there are still spaces I want to decorate and add to, but I figured I should show you before I start to introduce any new DIY’s! When I moved into my apartment, my mom noted that it would be really nice to have a wreath on the door. I had honestly never thought about getting one before, since I knew I would only see it for a few seconds a day leaving the house and then a few seconds more when I came home. The more I thought about it, though, I realized how lovely it would really be to have just a little something special to greet me at the door. Continue reading “DIY Non-Traditional Fall Wreath”
I’m finally moved into my new apartment and getting to decorate it DIY style! Well… the style is more of a mid-century meets California meets bachelorette pad, but I love when people can come in, ask where I got something, and I can tell them I made it! Having DIY home decor pieces really makes a home feel unique and give it a personal flair. Most of the time people think of home decor DIY’s as something that looks really homemade and crafty, but these pom pom trimmed sheer curtains are totally chic!
How sick are you guys of hearing about how I’m moving soon? Well don’t worry, it’s happening soon and then I can get to work on numerous home DIY’s that I know you all love! I finally found a place to call my own and I can’t wait to decorate it.
If you have ever lived with me, you would have experienced the great annoyance that is me consistently trying to rearrange the layout of the room. My architect parents were constantly changing the floor plan of every room in our home growing up… I would say twice a year! It was fun and exciting and challenging, and so I learned to do the same with my bedroom. Even at a young age, I would single-handedly push my bed into one corner and pull my dresser into another. Sometimes, it was a disaster, and I had to put everything back after a day of moving. This is how I learned to make my own layouts.
