Ruched Body-con Tulip Hem Dress Sewing Tutorial

This project goes way back into the beginning of Fall 2017 when I first set my eyes on the Leith Ruched Body-con Tank Dress on Instagram on possibly ever fashion blogger ever. So flattering and so versatile, I couldn’t believe the number of outfit opportunities I saw for it. Whether it was dressed up for a dinner with heels and a great bag, or dressed down with sneakers, a baseball cap, and a sweatshirt tied around the waist, I knew I needed one of my own.  Continue reading “Ruched Body-con Tulip Hem Dress Sewing Tutorial”

Beaded Dress with Fitted Bodice and Cap Sleeves Sewing Tutorial

Happy New Year, everyone! I am back from vacation in the UK visiting Scotland and England and am SO READY to share this dress tutorial with you! A fitted bodice, simple gathered skirt, and caps sleeves were the basis for this beauty, but the true magic comes from the beaded and embroidered fabric. I finished it weeks ago, but the post is just now ready… life, ya know? Continue reading “Beaded Dress with Fitted Bodice and Cap Sleeves Sewing Tutorial”

Easy DIY Belted Off the Shoulder Dress with Ruffle Hem

Ah summertime. All I want to wear is blue and white and pastels and whatever fabric I can get my hands on that is as thin as possible without being see through. Oh, and off the shoulder everything. I will never get tired of making off the shoulder dresses for three separate reasons:

  1. They are so so so cute. I love the flirty fit and they are really comfortable without being too casual.
  2. They are also so so so easy to make. In the way that I create them with two separate sleeves that attach to a bodice, there is pretty much nothing to the fit. In other words, it will always fit the first time around which is a huge win in saving you from seam ripping for hours.
  3. I love how the sleeves never creep up your shoulders using the pattern I use. Because the sleeves are separately attached below your arm pits, they will never end up annoyingly on top of your shoulders.

Off the Shoulder Maxi Dress Sewing Tutorial

off the shoulder maxi dress by bunny baubles blog

I remember the first time I wore a maxi dress. I walked into my college lunch room and was asked by a guy friend why I was wearing a gown. I busted out laughing thinking, I literally threw this on because I didn’t have to match any pieces of clothing together. But the more I thought about it, maxi dresses really set you up for success. They require zero thinking and make you look like you have your life together. You also appear ten feet tall, and are essentially wrapped in a blanket. Win win win win. Continue reading “Off the Shoulder Maxi Dress Sewing Tutorial”

Seersucker Off the Shoulder Summer Dress Sewing Tutorial

Seersucker Off the Shoulder Dress Tutorial by Bunny Baubles Blog

There’s nothing like stepping out into the Summer sun and feeling the deep heat radiate on to your shoulders. I may be one of the only crazy ones, but I love feeling the wall of humid heat here in Houston hit me as I leave the house. Maybe it’s the stark contrast to the frozen air conditioned spaces that we confine ourselves to, or maybe it’s just that the heat relaxes me into a sense of vacation, but I love it just the same. 20s Flapper Dress Tutorial by Bunny Baubles Title

So you all saw the pictures from Megan’s Great Gatsby birthday party which was one serious shindig. Megan had been planning to do a 20’s themed party for a while and picked up a fantastic flapper dress at H&M around Christmas time. Thinking it would be oh so simple to find a dress like she did, I waited until the day before the party to go shopping. I was not so lucky. DIY Off the Shoulder Dress Sewing Tutorial

Off the Shoulder Dress Tutorial by Bunny Baubles Blog

As promised from my Instagram (@bunnybaubles), I’m giving you another dress tutorial! I hadn’t been doing much fashion sewing lately since my home decor and baked goods were keeping me occupied, but I caught the sewing bug again and got to designing this last week! This tutorial is great because it only requires four pieces to be sewn together, and you can also shorten this pattern into a shirt if you’d like.
